Smithville Diamonds Youth Baseball and Softball (Little League) will be holding tryouts for the 2012 season at the Smithville gym (old Smithville School) at 7555 S. Strain Ridge Rd. Baseball tryouts will be Monday at 5:30 p.m. for ages 9-10 and Monday at 7 p.m. for ages 11-12. Baseball tryouts will be Feb. 28 at 5:30 p.m. for ages 5-6 and at 7 p.m. for ages 7-8. Softball tryouts will be March 3 at 9 a.m. (6U), 10 a.m. (8U), 11 a.m. (10U) and noon (12U).
Late registration will be Feb. 27-28 from 5:30-7 p.m. and March 3 from 9-11:30 a.m. For more information on any Smithville baseball leagues, including 4-year-old instructional, call Mike Baran at 812-391-2318 or email mwbaran@gmail.com. The Smithville Diamonds Little League is excited to announce a new opportunity for 11 and 12 year old baseball players for the 2012 season! We are chartering a Little League, “50-70” recreational league for 11 and 12 year olds that want to play “real” baseball. Players will play under modified high school rules (leading off, unrestrained base stealing, advancing on a dropped third strike, etc.). Players will pitch from 50 feet with 70 foot base paths. Bats are limited to 2 ¼” barrels (no big barrel bats).

o One child (baseball or softball) $90.00
o Two children (baseball or softball) $165.00
o Three children (baseball or softball) $225.00
o Four children (baseball or softball) $285.00
o Five children (baseball or softball) $345.00
* 4 and Under League, $40.00 and is not included in multiple child discount
For one child (baseball or softball), the cost is $90. The cost for the second child is $75. The cost for third child (and all additional children) is $60. For example, the cost for a family with four players is $285 ($90 + $75 + $60 + $60).
