We are chartering a Little League, “50-70” recreational league for 11 and 12 year olds that want to play “real” baseball. Players will play under modified high school rules (leading off, unrestrained base stealing, advancing on a dropped third strike, etc.). Players will pitch from 50 feet with 70 foot base paths. Bats are limited to 2 ¼” barrels (no big barrel bats).

Little League Baseball & Softball sign-ups/registration for all leagues for the 2012 season are on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, February 14 6pm – 8pm
Thursday, February 16 6pm – 8pm
Saturday, February 18 9am – 12pm

Registration Fee Info:
o   One child (baseball or softball)                      $90.00
o   Two children (baseball or softball)             $165.00
o   Three children (baseball or softball)          $225.00
o   Four children (baseball or softball)            $285.00
o   Five children (baseball or softball)             $345.00
*   4 and Under League, $40.00 and is not included in multiple child discount
For one child (baseball or softball), the cost is $90.  The cost for the second child is $75.  The cost for third child (and all additional children) is $60.  For example, the cost for a family with four players is $285 ($90 + $75 + $60 + $60).

Registration will be held at the Smithville Community Center (old Smithville School) on Strain Ridge Road. Did you know that the cost of running the season is far greater than the registration fee for each player? Smithville Diamonds, Inc. (SDI) keeps the registration costs low so that every child within our league boundaries can enjoy the experience of Little League baseball/softball. The SDI Bat-a-Thon is our way of raising the much needed revenue to field our teams, pay for our uniforms, fields, umpire expenses, and scholarships to families in need.

Note: Last year’s Bat-a-Thon revenue helped construct a fence on Field 3.
